Founded in 2008, Cycle Manoa is a student volunteer organization dedicated to promoting and enabling cycling on the University of Hawaii campus, and throughout the Island. We provide bike repairs to students for free, and parts at cost, as well as hands on learning of bike repair.
If there’s something wrong with your bike, stop by and we’ll help you fix it!

Do I have to be a student at UH Manoa to purchase a bike?
Unfortunately, due to some restrictions on how we can use our funding, you need to be a UH Manoa student to purchase a bike at our bike sale. However, all of our other functions, including volunteer night and open shop, are open to the public.
My seatpost and seat got stolen. I had my bike parked at one of the racks at the Noelani apartments, and I found it seatless just a day or 2 after I had taken it out for a ride. Does your shop have seatposts and seats for free or cheap? I have a Specialized Hardrock mountain bike. I’m a UH student and am on a tight budget.
Seat posts come in a variety of sizes, but we might have one that fits your bike. We have a good number of seats as well, none as nice as what your bike had on it, but definitely better than no seat at all. Since all our parts are used, we offer them at really cheap prices.
well i was going to come by and check it out, but since its for UH students only, I guess not. Apparently UH students are the only ones who enjoy bikes.
Christopher,
Sorry for not being clearer, but Cycle Manoa is not exclusively for UH students. We have several members who are not UH students, and welcome all participants. The only events that are restricted to UH students are the bike sale and bike buyback, due to restrictions on the funding we receive from the University.
We encourage the public to attend our open shop, meetings, volunteer nights, and all other events.
Thanks,
Nathan Domier

do you guys have any drop bars that you would sell? Looking to buy or trade a set for my bullhorn handlebars.
Thanks!
We have a good number of used drops in the shop. They’re all used, so we could sell you a pair pretty cheap.
Right on. Thanks! what hours are you open?
My brakes were smashed, seatpost and saddle stolen. Attempting to get it repaired I was surprised when the measurement tool didn’t even fit in my frame, it seems to be an uncommon size, around 22.0 mm or 7/8″. I was told to go to the hardware store with no luck and then finally that the only way would be to have a machinist fabricate something to stick in there with a lathe. Just wondering how common these sizes are, if I will ever find one or if I should just find a machinist
Sounds like you have a very small seatpost. What kind of bike is it? The only place I’ve seen that small of seatposts is on bmx bikes.
We don’t have anything like that in our shop, but you might try looking online. I’d bed other people with the same bike as you have run into the same problem in the past.
